Screen Saver Accessory Review

Traditionally LCD screens and other miniature screens have been protected using protective cases & pouches but with the entry of screen protector’s a new segment has adaptively been dispersed in the market today. This segment is compromised of people who wish to protect their LCD on their devices without sacrificing the bulkiness of a case or pouch of some kind. If you have ever experienced scratches on your LCD in any kind of electronic device you know that this can make your gadget look not only horrendous, but makes viewing your device a difficult task, plus generates psychological strife that wishes that you had bought protection sooner. If I am going off subject a bit then it’s probably because I am one of these goofs myself.

Another ipod bites the Sansa dust

The new Sansa e280 by SanDisk, is now the largest flash memory music player on the market; housing a whopping 8Gb of space and microSD expansion slots, in its sleek alloy metal scratch resistant frame, with a 1.8inch LCD display screen, - for the agreeable price of 249.99,“once again making it incredibly affordable for consumers to purchase the most feature-rich, high-capacity players," (Eric Bone, SanDisk's director of audio/video product marketing).
This release surely marks progress from SanDisk’s recent involvement with Toshiba; where work was done on expanding its flash memory capacity, and recent purchase of M-Systems which passed on to SanDisk a vast portfolio of products including Flash-SSD drives and embedded modules. The 1.7" x 3.5" x 0.5" player comes equipped with photo and video playback, FM radio tuning and recording, and built-in microphone (aka= memos on the go). The e280 supports open, non-proprietary DRM systems, and users can process photos and videos using the bundled Sansa Media Converter software; which work with both MP3 audio and windows media, and PlaysForSure compatibility so the Sansa e280 will support subscription services like Rhapsody To Go, Napster, etc. The e280 is equipped with a USB 2.0 interface connectivity and lives up to 20 hours in between charges to its obviously rechargeable lithium ion battery.Pre-orders are being accepted now on the SanDisk products site with estimated availability tied to mid-September. Windows XP is required for hook-up.In making room for the new addition to the Sansa e-family, prices have dropped on the other e200’s, as well as an offered free case for your player with purchase. (The Sansa e250, e260 and e270 are now priced at $139.99, $179.99 and $219.99 respectively

Samsung T509 Phone Review

Since the integration of thin cellular phones by Motorola in the industry, the cellular market has continuously emerged with new technological innovations in the new “Thin” communications arena. Cellular phones through cultural pressures are slowly technologically mutating into all in one slim as possible devices like the Motorola Q. This technological revolution that all began with the introduction of the slim Razr handset by Motorola now has some competition. Samsung has been right behind Motorola, producing thin models of its own. In December, the Samsung MM-A900 for Sprint emerged as a viable competitor to the Razr, and now with the introduction of the new Samsung SGH-T509 for T-Mobile, Samsung has positioned itself as an alternative to the candy bar-style Slvr L6. The T509 is actually slightly thinner than the Moto phone, which Samsung is quick to point out. Plus the Samsung T509 offers a comparable feature package and is a bit more attractive than the Slvr, plus the T509 features a more viably vivid display and a cooler looking illuminating keypad. That said, we at AccessoryGeeks.com were not too impressed with the variable sound quality and its overall thin lightweight durability. If interested in the phone the Samsung T509 will run $199 if you pay full price for an unlocked version or you can get it as low as $49 with a service contract with T-Mobile.

Cingular To Charge Non-GSM Subscribers

Cingular will soon begin charging subscribers with older phones $5 per month. In an effort to get subscribers off of older analog and TDMA handsets, Cingular will begin charging users on the older protocols as early as September. An FCC ruling declared Cingular and others like Verizon must continue to provide analog service until 2008. However the carriers can cut off service earlier if there are no remaining subscribers. The move is designed to convince customers to upgrade so that Cingular can reclaim the spectrum from them. The carrier is currently operating GSM, TDMA and analog services, which is reducing the amount of spectrum Cingular can devote to GSM as well as launching UMTS. Currently 4.7 million subscribers, about 8 percent of Cingular's total, are using TDMA or analog phones on the network.

Nokia 6236i Review

Our friendly Verizon network offers this low-key candy-bar style cellular phone by Nokia. Our cell phone review of the Nokia 6236i design specifications are not something to awe over. Samsung MM-A930 User Review

With the introduction of its V Cast Music downloading service earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, Verizon Wireless is continually expanding their lineup of music phones to stir up additional revenues for the company. Staying with competition, weeks after Sprint’s introduction of its newest music phone, the LG LX550, Verizon pulls out their Samsung SCH-A930. Unlike other music phones in the market the Samsung A930 comes completely in pure beautiful black and offers much of what has become standard in a music phone, including EV-DO support, Bluetooth, and an external memory card slot. In addition, the Samsung SCH-A930 has external music controls, which is not as user friendly as the Samsung SCH-A950. Thank-fully the SCH-A930 is competitively priced at $149.00, however, you can get it for as low as $39.00 with a 2-year service contract. The Samsung SCH-A930 cell phone review is meant to give you a glimpse at what the phone offers when it is compared to certain wireless devices in the market today.

Verizon Wireless the nation’s largest and strongest Network provider and LG recently launched an update to the VX8100 music phone with the new introduction of the lighter (3.88oz/110g) LG VX8300. While the VX8300 retains much of the previous specifications as of its predecessor the LG VX8100, the added tweaks both in hardware and design are appreciated, especially the weight issues. Instantaneously when taking a closer look at the new LG VX8300 I could immediately decipher that its eye-catching metallic gray clam-shell was sturdy and durable, but hey not indestructible.

HTC Excalibur Phone

Smartphone Thoughts has published what seems to be an exclusive photo of the HTC Excalibur. The Excalibur is expected to sport a QWERTY keyboard and WiFi support. This quad-band phone runs Windows Mobile. One of the interesting features is the strip on the right side of the screen. Instead of the traditional jog dial found on many smartphones, the Excalibur has a slide-strip: slide your finger up or down this strip to scroll up or down the menu options respectively.
It remains to be seen if the Excalibur will take on the Moto Q. No word on the pricing or availability yet.
