NEW YORK - VeriSign Inc. agreed to acquire 3united Mobile Solutions AG for 55 million euros, or about $65.5 million, expanding VeriSign's portfolio of content services for communications providers in Eastern Europe.
Mountain View, Calif.-based VeriSign, an Internet services provider, said Monday it expects the deal to close in the first quarter.
Vienna, Austria-based 3united employs about 100 workers. The company's main business is providing mobile application services to wireless networks.
VeriSign shares rose 4 cents to $23.74 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
