Worried about toxic wastes in your cell phones, and wondering what to do about the burgeoning problems plaguing the environment? Invest in a phone that's environment-friendly, that's what. LG Korea unveiled its mass-market RoHS-compliant cell phone, called LG Cyon.
Harmful components like lead and mercury have apparenty been eliminated (although our Korean isn't up to the mark), just in time for July, when the European Union's directives on hazardous wastes come into effect.
RoHS, or Restriction of Hazardous Substances, regulates the usage of such toxic material in manufacturing processes with a view to limit damage to our environment and it's great to see LG's commitment in this regard. LG's website.
