Sprint Nextel has announced that it has agreed to pay US$3.4 Billion and assume US$900 Million in debt to acquire one of its affiliates, Alamosa Holdings Inc. Alamosa Holdings is one of several affiliates that had filed suit against the company since Sprint and Nextel merged earlier this year.
Alamosa had been the largest of the Sprint affiliate partner before the merger.
The deal is still subject to Alamosa shareholder and other regulatory approvals before it is final.
