TORONTO (CP) - Score Media Inc. (TSX:SCR.SV) said Thursday it saw first-quarter profits more than doubled to $1.1 million as it increased subscriptions for its wireless sports score service.

Net income for the three months ended November 30, 2005 was one cent per share up from $500,000, also one cent per share, in the same period a year before.
Revenue for the quarter increased to $7.4 million from a year-ago $6 million.
The Toronto-based company said nearly 10,000 people had subscribed or pre-registered for Score Mobile, its wireless application for the delivery of up-to-the-minute sports scores and information to mobile phones, by the end of the first quarter.
The company said it intends to launch an application for use on Research In Motion Inc.'s (TSX:RIM - news) BlackBerry devices.
Score Media delivers sports information products and owns the Score Television Network, a national specialty television service providing sports, news, information, highlights and live event programming.
