The Real Mario Mario

For those who doesn't knows the real voice behind Nintendo's beloved mascot, Mario, here's a shot of his face. Do you think he looks like Mario? Charles Martinet has decided to write an autobiography that will hopefully be finished by next year. The book will talk about how it is like to be the voice of a famous icon and what it is like to work for Nintendo. That's it from me this week, TGIF!

Earn your degree through your cell phone?

Now this is something we were waiting to happen. Japan now offers college courses through powerpoint presentation streaming on your cell phones. The university, Cyber University, is owned by Softbank (a mobile service provider in Japan). So far, the university managed to educate 1,850 students and offers almost 100 courses. Unfortunately, only one course is available through the mobile service, for now. I can picture young adults deciding to procrastinate on their school work and have their inbox clogged with assignments and homework later in the future.

R4 is not so hidden anymore

For those who knows what the R4 is, SHUSH! For those who doesn't, I will simplify this for you, it lets you play homebrew games and "unauthorized games" on your DS. The Times has an article on how the R4 is a major threat to Nintendo, but what they don't realize is that 1) pirates still need to buy the DS for the R4 to function, 2) not everyone that buys the R4 are pirates, there are genuine homebrewers too. The popularity of the R4 is rising rapidly, up to the point where they posted tutorial videos on YouTube (which we will not link :P). I will not even describe to you how the R4 works because I don't want to get in trouble. All you need to know is that the R4 works when you have a micro SD card inserted in it ;)

Sarcos' exoskeleton proves dream can become a reality

If you ever thought how it would be cool to wear Halo 3 body suit, Sarcos has the answers for you. Yes, they are doing it baby steps at a time but its a giant leap to some. So far the demo unit performs remarkably lifting heavy equipments and reducing the fatigue of the user, but this also reminds us that soon, a troops of Ironman wannabe would swoop down from the sky and kill us all.
Here's the video for those who has time to watch.

A new way to find out if your wife is cheating!!

Finally a scandal that involves the Wii! According to the story told by "Tony" to Joystiq, he was away to help the country do whatever they need to do in Iraq. Apparently his wife started cheating on him and play with his Wii (no pun intended) on several "homey" dates with her secret lover. What she didn't know is that all the playtime is recorded in the mailbox and the guy's Mii is also recorded. For the record, the guy is really good at Wii Bowling, since he's a PBA bowler and all :). Here's the full scoop from Go Nintendo.

World's smallest projector.....yet

Oculon just launched their latest product and its the size of an average digital video camera. The Hikari Pro920 (pictured) and Pro 1440 can project a 15 to 20 inch display from 2 feet away. Pro1440 is able to project 250 lumens across a 20 inch, 800x600 pixel display through a regular RGB connector. In business term, this could be change the whole business meeting or sales methods. In gaming term however, this will change how gamers play. Bring on the Wii, let's start the Mario Party!
