Sony Ericsson GC86 GSM PC Card Gets FCC Nod
Sony Ericsson's GC86 quad-band GSM PC card gained the FCC's approval. Using the GC86 is straight-forward. Insert it into a compatible slot on your laptop, put in your GSM SIM card and you are ready. The PC card lets you get online and browse the web, access emails, send/receive text SMS messages and even edit the SIM card entries.
The GC86 is compatible with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz networks, so it can be used across the globe. Where supported, it can connect to GPRS or EDGE networks to get online.
Bundled with the GC86 are a CD-ROM, quick-start guide and a protective casing for the PC card. The CD contains Wireless Manager, an application to configure and manage wireless communication from your PC. No word on the pricing, though.
