Sony K618i: The Slim, Lightweight 3G Phone



Sony Ericsson, today stamped its authority in the cell phone market with the announcement of its latest addition to the 'K' series in the form of the Sony K618i. The new SonyEricsson K618 mobile phone is a slim, lightweight 3G phone that will launch in selected markets and boasts of a vibrant music design to blow your mind.

The Sony K618i is a tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM phone with benifits of UMTS(2100) and 3G. The phone is a perfect combination of both entertainment on the go and powerful business tool. The very first thing you would notice about the phone is its stunning 176x220 pixels, TFT 1.9” 262k colour display. It features a 2 MegaPixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom and QCIF video recording & streaming. The
phone includes a music player as well which supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ playbacks. The phone comes with a default 256MB


Memory Stick Micro (M2). Users can store upto 230 music tracks and over 700 photos. Perhaps the only con is that the memory can be expanded upto maximum of 1GB.

On the connectivity side, it enojys the benifit of UMTS which helps for high speed browsing up to 384 Kbps. Other features include bluetooth, USB 2.0, Fast port connector, External antenna connector, Flight mode and HTML Full Browser with RSS. The K618 will be available in selected markets from Q3 2006. No word on the pricing as yet
